Dry Cough and Itcy Throat Remedy

Being sick is difficult specially if you have responsibilities like going to school, work or taking care of kids. The flu season is sure to ravage every household and claim most of the members. The pain of fever and cold, the watery eyes, the product issuing cough are all things that are really hard to deal with.

What I hate most about being sick with flu is that it never seems to go away. Even After a whole cycle of antibiotics and the seemingly successful return to a normal life, there is still the lingering dry cough and itchy throat with the occasional boughts of sneezing.

This remedy is a little piece of gold I picked up from a friend and it has given me so much relief. Where it used to take me at least 10 days to make a full recovery even after the actual fever diasappeared, now it takes me about 5-6.

This tea, infused with ginger, bayleaves, cloves and honey is the ideal remedy to cough and cold. Even when the cough is not dry, it still gives great benefit. This method of treatment, Ayurvedic, has been practised for hundreds of years and is very effective.

Ingredients
2 cups water
1 inch piece ginger
2 cloves
2 bay leaves
1 tbsp honey
lemon juice

Method
1) In a sauce pan, combine all the ingredients and bring to a rolling boil.
2) Once it comes to a boil, cover and simmer on low for 10 minutes.
3) turn off stoves and squeeze in a 2tsp of lemon juice just before serving

Get well soon!

  1. Nice one, you can also try Cinnamon and a Lime - This is an incredible remedy on how to stop a cough that is definitely effective. Boil 2 cinnamon sticks in one cup of lime juice. The vitamin C that is present in the lime juice can boost your body’s immune system. The combination of lime and cinnamon can take out the phlegm.
